  3. Welcome to the wonderful world of Exile II: Crystal Souls! You now 
  4. have access to days, weeks, or even months of role-playing adventure!
  5. Exile II features an elegant system, deep interface, and over a hundred
  6. towns and dungeon levels!

  13. Should you experience trouble with Exile II: Crystal Souls crashing, or with
  14. odd behavior such as static in sounds or graphics, contact the author at 
  15. the address above. First, however, there are several ways you might be
  16. able to make the problem go away.

  18. 1. If you are using background music, turn it off.
  19. 2. Give Exile II more memory. From the Finder, click on Exile II and then hit
  20. Command-I. Increase the numbers in the lower right hand corner of the 
  21. window that comes up.
  22. 3. Play Exile II without extensions running. To do this, Restart your Mac, and
  23. hold the shift key down while it boots up.
  24. There is a known conflict between Exile II and the Flightstick Pro Extension.

  27. want to squish them! Typo reports are welcome too!

  31. 1. How do I attack someone?
  32.     Just move into them. Note that, in town, you have to enter combat mode
  33. first. Click on the sword button to do this.

  35. 2. How do I equip an item?
  36.     Type the number of the PC with the item twice to bring you to that PCs 
  37. item page. Click on the name of the item.
  38.  
  39. 3. I can't figure out talking to people!
  40.     Select Talk Help from the Help menu.

  42. 4. Sometimes I'm told my mage is too encumbered to cast spells, and
  43. sometimes I'm not. Why?
  44.      You can only cast mage spells when your encumbrance is 1 or less. 
  45. However, Defense skill counteracts this. If your encumbrance is 2 or 3 and
  46. your defense skill is high, you might occasionally get away with casting a spell.

  48. 5. I'm getting diseased all the time, and I don't know why!
  49.      Perhaps you should identify everything in your inventory. Something 
  50. might be harming you.
